How can we reserve the date and time for our wedding?
Once the couple has decided to have their wedding at Sandos San Blas Nature Resort & Golf, they will be sent a generic contract and pro forma invoice for their wedding. The date will be considered reserved once we receive the signed contract and the deposit as confirmation.
When should we pay for our wedding?
The payment policy is as follows: - 1st deposit for 25% of the estimated budget, with a maximum limit of €1,800.00 as confirmation of the wedding. - 2nd deposit for 50% of the total of the confirmed services, to be paid 30 days before the event. - 3rd deposit for the total amount of the invoice, to be paid 5 days before the wedding date. Payments will be made via bank transfer, or if you’re paying directly at the hotel via credit card or cash, in accordance with all laws for cash payments. Maximum €2,500 for citizens and residents of Spain, and €15,000 for non-resident foreigners.
Can I get legally married at the hotel?
At the hotel, we only organize symbolic ceremonies. The couple gets legally married in their home country or at their corresponding city hall or court, and at the hotel we carry out a symbolic ceremony or in some cases a blessing. Only residents can get legally married in Spain, and the judge or mayor gives the authorization for residents to have their wedding at the hotel. At the hotel, we hire an officiant for symbolic ceremonies, or we put the couple in touch with an Anglican priest so they can have the blessing, if they so wish.
How many days before the wedding should we arrive at the hotel?
There is no requirement as to the arrival date when it comes to a symbolic wedding; however, we recommend arriving a few days in advance so you can set up an appointment with your wedding coordinator at the hotel to go over and reconfirm all the details.
Does the hotel do same sex weddings?
Of course. At Sandos San Blas Nature Resort & Golf, we can do symbolic wedding ceremonies for same sex couples.
When should I confirm the final number of guests?
The number of guests will be updated as you make your payments, with the following policy in place for guest cancellations: a) Up to 15 days before the event date, you can cancel up to 50% of the original number of reserved guests with no cancellation fees. b) 15 to 7 days before the event date, you will be allowed a 10% reduction on the total amount of hired services with no penalty, based on the total booked at the time of the reduction. c) 7 to 5 days before the event date, you will be allowed a 5% reduction on the total amount of hired services with no penalty, based on the total booked at the time of the reduction. For cancelled services that exceed the percentages listed in the points above, the Hotel will bill 100% of the cost of the cancelled guests, as well as the rest of the services not used on the day of the event.
Can the hotel offer special food to fit the dietary needs of our guests?
It will be our pleasure to cover the needs of your guests. You must inform the hotel of these special requests at least 15 days before the event.
How late can the hotel host an outdoor event and an indoor event?
At the hotel, outdoor events are allowed until 11:00 pm, and indoor events until 5:00 am.
Once we’ve booked our wedding date, when can we start planning the details of the wedding?
Once your wedding has been confirmed, your wedding coordinator will be available to help you organize every detail of your event and to provide any answers or assistance you might need. Every wedding is unique, and our coordinator will help you personalize your event and make it the wedding of your dreams.
Will our guests receive a special price when they stay at the hotel?
Your wedding guests who book their stay directly with the hotel will receive a 10% discount off our website price.
And will we have a special price for our stay at the hotel?
For weddings with more than 40 guests, the hotel gifts the couple a stay in the Bridal Suite on their wedding night. On additional nights, the couple will receive the same special price as their guests.

Can we bring our own vendors?
It will always depend on the type of service and the vendor you wish to bring. The wedding coordinator will let you know if it’s possible or not. If approved, the outside vendors must have all paperwork and work permits in order and present them to the hotel. There also might be an extra cost for bringing an outside vendor; our coordinator will inform you of this cost and add it to the wedding bill. The hotel will not be held responsible for any vendor not from the hotel, and outside vendors will not be coordinated by our wedding staff.
Can we bring our own decorations?
If you plan to bring wedding decorations with you, the coordinator must be informed at least 15 days prior to the event. These decorations will be given to the coordinator when you arrive at the hotel. Depending on the amount of decoration and the set-up requirements, an additional cost may apply.
Can we send things to the hotel before we arrive?

It’s very important to ship packages 30 days before the wedding to ensure they arrive on time. The packages might be stopped at Customs and not arrive, which is why we recommend that you send them far in advance, making sure to follow all Customs regulations.
Are paper sky lantern releases allowed?
No, because they are a fire hazard.
Are fireworks allowed?
Yes, but only when booked through the hotel with our regular vendor, who is the only one permitted to carry out pyrotechnics displays since we’re located next to an international airport.
Why is there an extra charge for events on the beach?
Because this charge goes toward beach maintenance and improvement.
How many weddings does the hotel do in a day?
At our hotel, we only have one wedding per day to ensure that the day is a unique and special experience for the couple.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Don’t worry. In the event of bad weather on your wedding day, we have a Plan B so that your wedding can take place in a covered area with no delays.
What happens if I have to cancel my wedding?
Our wedding cancellation policy is as follows: a) If the cancellation is received in the 3 months prior to the arrival date, the penalty will be 25% of the total cost of the wedding. b) If the cancellation is received 15 to 5 days prior to the arrival date, the penalty will be 50% of the total cost of the wedding. c) If the cancellation is received in the 5 days prior to the arrival date, the penalty will be 100% of the total cost of the wedding.
